What is ACLS Course ? ACLS, or Advanced Cardiac Life Support, is a certification course for healthcare professionals, like doctors, nurses, and paramedics, who manage cardiac arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. It builds on Basic Life Support (BLS) skills and includes advanced techniques for treating life-threatening conditions like cardiac arrest, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes.
What is CPR ? CPR stands for cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It can help save a life during cardiac arrest, when the heart stops beating or beats too ineffectively to circulate blood to the brain and other vital organs.
What is an AED ? An AED (Automated External Defibrillator) is a portable, lightweight medical device used to treat sudden cardiac arrest. It analyzes the heart's rhythm and delivers an electric shock if necessary to restore a normal heartbeat. AEDs are commonly found in public places and are designed to be easy for non-medical personnel to use Is an AED the same as CPR? CPR provides essential chest compressions to maintain blood flow and oxygen to the brain and heart, while AED provides electrical shocks to the heart to restore a normal rhythm
